Apostles
The only way we can influence people of power is by influencing people directly around us, which will create a movement that reaches the people of power. It's not a matter of persuasion. Their interests are different than ours. They'll move only when they see millions in the streets. The Apostles make songs to move people. This is a fresh approach to the genre of hip-hop fusion. With live drums, real emotion and rugged instrumentals - the Apostles are moving hip-hop forward in a new direction offering a refreshingly powerful alternative to the violent, misogynistic, consumer-based, nihilistic themes all to common in popular culture today. Les Repercussionistes
Les Repercussionistes will bring you what you have got coming. Swimming on the frontiers of subversive pseudopop psychedeleclectica, mounting a movement up royal mountains, from tiny bedrooms under Montreal avalanches and out the windows of the universe. It is the sound of escalating desperation, train wrecks and sharp knives, lust and rage, the killer wails of youth - all swarming in profuse confusion. Confronting destiny, attacking apathy, harnessing darkness and aiming at art. Schizo-phrenetic, expressionistic collage. Manifestos to dance to! Read more... |

Some people are born into greatness, others into trouble. In a world where the deck is stacked against you, The Bad Sleep Well. The Ease Down
A thick haze covered the Montreal sky as singer/songwriter Ben Wilkins found himself perched in a tree, looking down on the city that surrounded him. Somewhere in the night there dwelt two musicians who would aid him in making the world a better place for humankind. He found a tiny room with an antiquated honky-tonk upright piano and shamelessly began writing out songs: each one composed of lyrical vocal melodies, jazz influenced harmonies and crunchy pop/rock rhythms. And then in the doorway, as if drawn by the sounds, bassist Matt Wiviott and drummer Alex Dray suddenly appeared. Words were exchanged, friendships were formed and The Ease Down was born. The Throbbing Purple
If you like your rock 'n' roll in the vein of the Stooges, the Dead Boys, The Damned or the Dolls, yet are hoping to find a little inspiration rather than sheer imitation somewhere in the mix, The Throbbing Purple is a band you should definitely investigate. Spawned in Montreal sometime over the past several decades, The Throbbing Purple began life as an excuse for singer Chris Barry [39 Steps, the 222's], guitarist Waxx [SCUM], drummer Dave Macanulty [The Subhumans] and bassist Roger Dawson [The Beatles] to go get messed up and play the occasional gig for chump change and the glory associated with rockin' for 20 people in an empty club. WhiteRoom
By the time Alex Dray and Eddy Silva had founded WhiteRoom, they had spent much of their lives trying to absorb as much human static as the body can take before going crazy. Dangerously close to the breaking point, it was clear that the only stress relief was to decipher, filter and sculpt their own version of the Great Universal Static. The result is an absorbing new musical gestalt: a twisted and unconscious homage to paying attention and letting go. Read more... |

It's not clear as to his time of birth, but as his presence grows stronger on Earth, he is able to channel his thoughts to musicians who are receptive to them.
